Exelon Patch 5cm² is a transdermal patch that releases Rivastigmine at a rate of 4.6 mg per 24 hours. The patch itself has a surface area of 5 cm². It is manufactured by Novartis.

Indications:

Exelon Patch is used for the symptomatic treatment of:

• Mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's dementia.
• Mild to moderately severe dementia associated with Parkinson's disease.  

Dosage and Administration:

• The usual starting dose is one 4.6 mg/24 hours patch applied once daily.  
• The patch should be applied to clean, dry, hairless, intact skin on the upper or lower back, upper arm, or chest.  
• It should be replaced with a new patch every 24 hours.
• The application site should be rotated daily to minimize skin irritation.
• The dose may be increased by your doctor after a minimum of 4 weeks to 9.5 mg/24 hours and then to a maximum of 13.3 mg/24 hours based on tolerability and therapeutic response.

Precautions:
