Finapark 50 Tablet contains Safinamide Mesylate equivalent to 50 mg of Safinamide. 
It is manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Finapark is a monoamine oxidase type B (MAO-B) inhibitor indicated as adjunctive treatment to levodopa/carbidopa in patients with Parkinson’s disease experiencing "off" episodes. Finapark has not been shown to be effective as monotherapy for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.  

Pharmacology: Safinamide inhibits MAO-B activity, blocking the catabolism of dopamine, which is thought to increase dopamine levels and dopaminergic activity in the brain.

Dosage and Administration:

• The recommended starting dosage is 50 mg orally once daily (at the same time of day).
• After 2 weeks, the dose may be increased to 100 mg once daily, based on individual need and tolerability.  
• If a dose is missed, the next dose should be taken at the same time the next day.  
• When stopping treatment, the 100 mg dose should be tapered by decreasing the dose to 50 mg for one week before stopping.

Side Effects: The most common adverse reactions of Finapark are:

• Dyskinesia (involuntary muscle movements)
• Fall
• Nausea
• Insomnia (difficulty sleeping)

Other possible side effects include:

• Dizziness on standing
• Anxiety
• Cough
• Heartburn/indigestion

Precautions:

• May cause or exacerbate hypertension.
• May cause serotonin syndrome when used with MAO inhibitors, antidepressants, or opioid drugs.
• May cause falling asleep during activities of daily living.
• May causeor exacerbate dyskinesia; consider levodopa dose reduction.  
• May cause hallucinations and psychotic behavior.
• May cause problems with impulse control/compulsive behaviors.  

Contraindications: Finapark is contraindicated in patients with:

• Concomitant use of other MAO inhibitors.
• Concomitant use of opioid drugs (e.g., tramadol, meperidine).
• Concomitant use of selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, tri- or tetracyclic antidepressants, or triazolopyridine antidepressants.
• Concomitant use of cyclobenzaprine.
• Concomitant use of methylphenidate, amphetamine, and their derivatives.
• Concomitant use of St. John's wort.
• Concomitant use of dextromethorphan.
• A history of hypersensitivity to safinamide.
• Severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh C: 10-15).

Drug Interactions: Finapark can interact with various medications. It's crucial to inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, especially:

• MAO inhibitors
• Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclics)
• Opioid drugs
• Dextromethorphan
• Sympathomimetic medications
• Tyramine-containing foods (aged cheese, pickled foods, cured meats - should be avoided due to risk of severe hypertension)

Pregnancy and Lactation: Finapark is Pregnancy Category C. It is not known whether safinamide passes into human breast milk; caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman.

Storage: Do not store above 30°C. Keep away from light and out of the reach of children.
