Presentation: Effervescent tablets containing Calcium Lactate Gluconate, Calcium Carbonate (equivalent to elemental Calcium 600 mg), and Vitamin D3 400 IU. Available in tubes of 10 tablets. Manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.
Ingredients: Calcium Lactate Gluconate, Calcium Carbonate BP (equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium), Vitamin D3 BP (as Cholecalciferol) 400 IU.
Indications: Indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. Also used as a supplement as an adjunct to specific therapy in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in patients at risk of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency.
Dosage & Administration: Adults and adolescents: 1 tablet once or twice a day, preferably one tablet each morning and evening, or as directed by a physician. Children: 1 tablet once a day. Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink immediately. Do not swallow or chew the tablet.
Side Effects: Rarely, serious allergic reactions may occur, including swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat. Other rare side effects include hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria. Common but less serious side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, bloating, itching, and redness or burning of the skin.
Precautions:Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism, hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis, hypersensitivityto any of the ingredients, and severe renal insufficiency. Use with caution in patients with a history of renal stones, and monitor urinary calcium excretion. During long-term administration, regular blood and urine calcium levels, as well as kidney function, should be monitored. Consult a physician if taking other Calcium and Vitamin D preparations, or if there is a previous history of kidney disorders or certain lung diseases like Sarcoidosis/Besnier-Boeck disease. May interact with cardiac glycosides, thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids, oral bisphosphonates, sodium fluoride, tetracycline, cholestyramine, and laxatives.
Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Keep the container tightly closed.
