Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of folic acid deficiency. Used in the management of megaloblastic anemia due to folate deficiency. Also recommended for supplementation in conditions with increased folate requirements, such as pregnancy, lactation, and periods of rapid growth. May also be used to reduce the risk of neural tube defects in the developing fetus when taken before and during early pregnancy.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose for folic acid deficiency is 5 mg daily, or as directed by a physician. For prevention during pregnancy, a lower dose (e.g., 400 mcg or 0.4 mg daily) is often recommended, but this may vary based on individual risk factors and local guidelines.
