Gabarol 75 Capsule

Presentation: Each capsule contains 75 mg of Pregabalin. 

Indications: Gabarol is indicated for the treatment of:

• Neuropathic pain (nerve pain)
• Epilepsy (as adjunctive therapy in adults with partial-onset seizures)
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in adults
• Fibromyalgia

Dosage and Administration: The dosage varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient's response. It is usually administered two or three times a day.

• Neuropathic Pain: The usual starting dose is 150 mg per day, given in two or three divided doses. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 600 mg per day.
• Epilepsy: The usual starting dose is 150 mg per day, given in two or three divided doses. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 600 mg per day.
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder: The usual starting dose is 150 mg per day, given in two or three divided doses. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 600 mg per day.
• Fibromyalgia: The usual starting dose is 150 mg per day, given in two divided doses. The dose may be increased gradually to 300 to 450 mg per day.

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Dizziness
• Drowsiness
• Dry mouth
• Blurred vision
• Weight gain
• Difficulty concentrating
• Swelling in the arms and legs (peripheral edema)

Less common but potentially serious side effects can occur. It's important to discuss any unusual symptoms with your doctor.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with a history of angioedema (severe swelling), heart failure, or renal impairment. Dosage adjustment may be necessary in patients with kidney problems.
• May cause dizziness and drowsiness, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery until you know how Gabarol affects you.
• May be associated with an increased risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior. Monitor patients for any changes in mood or behavior.
• Avoid abrupt discontinuation of Gabarol to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Dosage should be gradually reduced under medical supervision.
• Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult your doctor.

Contraindications: Gabarol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any of the excipients.

Drug Interactions: Gabarol may interact with other medications, including:

• Opioid pain relievers (e.g., oxycodone)
• Benzodiazepines (e.g., lorazepam, diazepam)
• Alcohol
• Certain medications for high blood pressure

Inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking.
