Gabastar 300

Presentation: Each capsule contains 300 mg Gabapentin.

Indications: Treatment of epilepsy (partial seizures) and neuropathic pain (nerve damage pain), including postherpetic neuralgia.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage varies by condition. For epilepsy in adults and children over 12 years, initial dose is typically 300 mg three times a day. Dosage may be gradually increased by a doctor. For neuropathic pain, starting dose is usually 300 mg once daily, may be increased gradually to a maximum of 1800 mg daily in divided doses. Follow doctor's instructions. Can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, ataxia (lack of coordination). Less common: Nausea, vomiting, diplopia (double vision), peripheral edema (swelling of extremities).

Precautions: Inform doctor of kidney problems or if pregnant or breastfeeding. May cause drowsiness and dizziness. Caution with alcohol and other CNS depressants. Do not stop abruptly.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
