Indications:Glinta M is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both linagliptin and metforminis appropriate.This combination is used in patients whose blood sugar is not adequately controlled with diet and exercise alone or with metformin monotherapy.

Dosage and Administration:The dosage of Glinta M should be individualized based on the patient's current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability, while not exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose oflinagliptin 5 mg and metformin 2000 mg.It is usually taken twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects associated with metformin.  

• For patients not currently treated with metformin:Initiate treatment with one tablet of Glinta M 2.5/500 mg twice daily.  
• For patients already treated with metformin: Start with linagliptin 2.5 mg twice daily and continue the current dose of metformin.
• Patients already treated with linagliptin and metformin as separate tablets may be switched to Glinta M containing the same doses of each component.  

Tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed, split, or chewed.Renal function should be assessed before initiating Glinta M and periodically thereafter.

Side Effects:Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, and headache.Nasal congestion and sore throat have also been reported.Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) may occur when Glinta M is used in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas.

Precautions:Glinta M is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis, and known hypersensitivity to linagliptin or metformin.It should be used with caution in patients with moderate renal impairment, liver disease, and a history of pancreatitis. Excessive alcohol intake should be avoided due to the increased risk of lactic acidosis associated with metformin.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
