Glucozid MR 30

Presentation:Modified-release tablet containing 30 mg Gliclazide BP.  

Indications:Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are insufficient to achieve adequate glycemic control.  

Dosage & Administration:The usual initial dose is 30 mg once daily, taken at breakfast.Dosage may be adjusted gradually based on blood glucose levels, up to a maximum of 120 mg once daily. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew.Follow physician's instructions.

Side Effects:Common: hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).Less common: gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation), skin reactions (rash, itching, hives). Rare: blood disorders (anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia), elevated liver enzymes, jaundice.  

Precautions:Risk of hypoglycemia (monitor blood glucose regularly, especially during dose changes, illness, or changes in diet/activity).Renal and hepatic impairment (use with caution, dosage adjustment may be needed; contraindicated in severe impairment). Elderly patients may be more susceptible to hypoglycemia.Pregnancy and lactation (not recommended). Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.  

Storage:Store at room temperature (15-30°C), protected from moisture and light.Keep out of reach of children.
