Icykool Max cream combines the active ingredients Methyl Salicylate and Menthol to provide dual-action pain relief.

• Methyl Salicylate: This ingredient is rapidly absorbed through the skin, where it undergoes first-pass metabolism to release active salicylate in both the epidermis and dermis. Salicylate works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are chemicals that contribute to pain and inflammation in affected tissues.
• Menthol: Menthol enhances the penetration of other drugs when applied to the skin, leading to a faster onset of action. It also dilates blood vessels, causing an initial sensation of coolness, followed by a deeper analgesic (pain-relieving) effect.

Overdose Effects: Applying a large amount topically may lead to systemic absorption through the skin and could cause salicylism. Symptoms of salicylism include tinnitus (ringing in the ears), hearing loss, nausea, and vomiting.
