Indever 40

Presentation: Each tablet contains Propranolol Hydrochloride BP 40 mg. 

Indications: Indever (Propranolol) is indicated for various conditions including:

• Essential hypertension
• Angina pectoris (chest pain related to the heart)
• Cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats)
• Thyrotoxicosis (overactive thyroid gland)
• Anxiety
• Prophylaxis of migraine headaches
• Essential tremor

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Indever is individualized and should be determined by a registered medical practitioner.

• Hypertension: The usual starting dose for adults is 80 mg twice daily, which may be increased at weekly intervals. The maintenance dose is typically 160-320 mg daily in divided doses.
• Angina Pectoris: The initial dose is 40 mg two or three times daily, with a maintenance dose of 120-240 mg daily in divided doses.
• Anxiety: A dose of 40 mg once daily may be used, which can be increased to three times daily if needed.
• Migraine Prophylaxis: The initial dose is 40 mg two or three times daily, with a maintenance dose of 80-160 mg daily in divided doses.

Indever tablets are administered orally, usually before meals. Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided, especially in patients with ischemic heart disease.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include cold extremities, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, and insomnia. Less common side effects can include bradycardia (slow heart rate), hypotension (low blood pressure), and gastrointestinal disturbances. Patients should consult their doctor if they experience persistent or bothersome side effects.

Precautions: Indever is contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma or a history of bronchospasm, cardiogenic shock, second or third-degree heart block, and uncontrolled heart failure. Caution should be exercised in patients with compensated heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, diabetes mellitus (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms), and hepatic or renal impairment. It should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage: Store Indever 40 mg tablets in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
