Jardian 10 

Presentation: Jardian 10 Tablet, available in Bangladesh, contains Empagliflozin 10 mg. 

Indications: Jardian is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control. It is also indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease.  

Dosage and Administration:The recommendeddose of Jardian is 10 mg once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food. In patients tolerating Jardian, the dose may be increased to 25 mg once daily. In patients with volume depletion, correcting this condition prior to initiation of Jardianis recommended. Renal function should be assessed prior to initiation of Jardian.

Side Effects: The most common side effects associated with Jardian are urinary tract infections and female genital mycotic infections. Other common side effects include increased thirst, increased urination, nausea, and genital fungal infections. It may also cause dehydration and low blood pressure in some individuals.

Precautions: Jardian is contraindicated in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reaction to empagliflozin or any of its ingredients, severe renal impairment, end-stage renal disease, ordialysis. It is not recommended for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal impairment and those at risk of volume depletion (e.g., elderly patients, patients on diuretics). The use of Jardian is generally not recommended during breastfeeding.

Storage: Store Jardian 10 tablets in a cool and dry place (below 30° C), protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
