Joytrip 150 Tablet

Presentation:Each chewable tablet contains Hyoscine Hydrobromide BP 150 mcg (0.15 mg).

Indications:Joytrip is an antimuscarinic (or anticholinergic) medication. It is used for:

• Prevention and relief of motion sickness.  
• Reduction of gastrointestinal spasms.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults and Children over 12 years:For prevention of motion sickness, the usual dose is 1 or 2 tablets (150-300 mcg) to be taken 20-30 minutes before travel. To treat established motion sickness, the usual dose is 1 tablet (150 mcg), which may be repeated every 4-6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 600 mcg (4 tablets) in 24 hours. 
• Children (6-12 years): Half to one tablet (75-150 mcg) may be taken 20-30 minutes before travel or as needed every 6-8 hours. Do not exceed 300 mcg (2 tablets) in 24 hours.
• Children (under 6 years): Use is generally not recommended except under medical advice.

Joytrip 150 tablets are chewable and can be chewed or swallowed whole with water.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Dry mouth
• Drowsiness
• Blurred vision
• Dizziness

Less common side effects can include difficulty in passing urine, constipation, and rapid heartbeat.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma, prostatic enlargement, or heart problems.
• May cause drowsiness; caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase drowsiness.

Contraindications: Joytrip is contraindicated in patients with:

• Known hypersensitivity to hyoscine hydrobromide or any of the excipients.
• Narrow-angle glaucoma.
• Prostatic hypertrophy with urinary retention.
• Gastrointestinal obstruction.
• Tachycardia.

Drug Interactions: Joytrip may interact with other anticholinergic medications, antihistamines, and central nervous system depressants. Inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
