Kenzo 10 

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet of Kenzo 10 contains Vonoprazan Fumarate INN 13.36 mg equivalent to Vonoprazan 10 mg. Kenzo 10 is a product of Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd.in Bangladesh and is usually available in blister packs containing 3 strips of 10 tablets each.

Indications:Kenzo (Vonoprazan) is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) indicated for:  

• Prevention of recurrence of gastric ulcer during low-dose aspirin administration.  
• Prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcer during low-dose aspirin administration.  
• Prevention of recurrence of gastric ulcer during non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) administration.  
• Prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcer during non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) administration.  

Dosage and Administration: Kenzo 10 tablets should be taken orally once daily. The tablet can be taken without regard to food or the timing of food.  

• Prevention of recurrence of gastric ulcer during low-dose aspirin administration: The usual adult dose is one 10 mg tablet once daily.
• Prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcer during low-dose aspirin administration: The usual adult dose is one 10 mg tablet once daily.
• Prevention of recurrence of gastric ulcer during non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) administration:The usual adult dose is one 10 mg tablet once daily.  
• Prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcer during non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) administration: The usual adult dose is one 10 mg tablet once daily.

The duration of treatment should be as prescribed by your doctor.

Side Effects: The most common side effects reported with Kenzo (Vonoprazan) include:

• Diarrhoea
• Constipation
• Skin rash
• Nausea  

Other side effects that may occur include hypersensitivity reactions (including anaphylactic shock), drug eruption, urticaria, hepatotoxicity, jaundice, abdominal distension, and increased liver enzymes (ALT, AST, gamma-glutamyl transferase).

Precautions:Kenzo (Vonoprazan) is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Vonoprazan or any excipients in the product, and in patients receiving atazanavir sulphate or rilpivirine hydrochloride.  

Caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver dysfunction and severe renal impairment. Long-term use of proton pump inhibitors (which have similar mechanisms to PCABs like Vonoprazan) may slightly increase the risk of hip, wrist, and spine fractures, particularly if used for more than one year.  

Kenzo may interfere with the absorption of other drugs where gastric pH is an important factor for bioavailability, such as ketoconazole, iron salts, and digoxin.

The safety and efficacy of Kenzo in children and adolescents under 18 years have not been established and therefore it is not recommended for use in this age group.

Vonoprazan should be used during pregnancy only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with Vonoprazan; if it is essential, nursing should be discontinued.  

Storage:Store below 30°C, in a cool and dry place, protected from light.Keep out of reach of children.
