Presentation: Kidicol Drops, available in Bangladesh, contain Simethicone. The strength is typically 40 mg per ml.

Indications: Kidicol (Simethicone) is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with gas, such as:

• Infantile colic
• Upper gastrointestinal bloating
• Functional dyspepsia
• Spastic or irritable colon

Simethicone works by reducing the surface tension of gas bubbles, causing them to break down and allowing for easier passage of gas, thus relieving discomfort.

Dosage and Administration: Kidicol drops should be administered orally. The dosage will vary depending on age and specific condition. Always follow your doctor's specific instructions or the instructions on the product packaging. Kidicol drops are usually taken after meals and at bedtime.

• Infants (under 2 years): The usual dose is 0.3 ml to 0.6 ml (approximately 6 to 12 drops) four times daily, or as directed by a physician.
• Children (over 2 years): The usual dose is 0.6 ml to 1.2 ml (approximately 12 to 24 drops) four times daily, or as directed by a physician.
• Adults: The usual dose is 0.6 ml to 1.9 ml (approximately 12 to 38 drops) four times daily, up to a maximum of 7.5 ml (approximately 150 drops) per day, or as directed by a physician.

The drops can be given directly into the infant's mouth or mixed with a small amount of cool water or formula. For older children and adults, the drops can be taken directly or with water. Shake the bottle well before use.

Side Effects: Simethicone is generally considered safe and well-tolerated. Side effects are rare because it is not absorbed into the bloodstream. However, in very rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

Precautions: There are generally no specific contraindications for Simethicone, as it is physiologically inert. However, if a patient has a known hypersensitivity to Simethicone or any of the product's excipients, it should be used with caution. If symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment, consult a doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Storage: Store Kidicol drops below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the bottle.
