Indications: Klion (Metronidazole) is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, including:

• Trichomoniasis  
• Bacterial vaginosis  
• Amoebiasis
• Giardiasis  
• Anaerobic bacterial infections (e.g., intra-abdominal, gynecological, dental)  
• Prevention of post-operative anaerobic infections

Dosage and Administration: The dosage depends on the type and severity of the infection and should be as prescribed by a physician. For adults, common regimens include 400 mg twice daily for 7 days for bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis, or higher doses for shorter durations in some cases. For amoebiasis and giardiasis, the dosage and duration vary. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, metallic taste, and headache. Less frequent side effects can include dizziness, drowsiness, and dark urine. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided during treatment due to the risk of a disulfiram-like reaction.  

Precautions:Klion (Metronidazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Metronidazole or other nitroimidazole derivatives.Caution should be exercised in patients with central nervous system disorders, liver disease, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult a healthcare professional.
