Kona (Ketoconazole) Product Series

Kona is an antifungal medication available in various forms to treat skin, scalp, and systemic fungal infections.

📋 Indications & Usage

•  Shampoo: Treats dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and pityriasis versicolor.

•  Cream: Treats athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis).

•  Tablet: Used for serious or deep fungal infections in the mouth, skin, nails, or internal systems when topical treatment fails.

•  Medicated Bar: Indicated for all kinds of body fungus.

🥄 Dosage & Administration

• Shampoo: Apply to wet scalp, lather, and leave for 5 minutes before rinsing.

  • Treatment: 2 times weekly for 2–4 weeks.

  • Prevention: Once every 1–2 weeks.

• Cream: Apply to the affected area 1–2 times daily. Usually used for 1–4 weeks depending on the infection.

• Tablet: Adults usually take 1 tablet (200 mg) daily with food. For vaginal yeast infections, 1 tablet twice daily for 5 days.

• Bar: Rub on the body, leave for 4–5 minutes, then rinse.

⚠️ Safety & Side Effects

• Side Effects:

  • Topical: Burning sensation, itching, or redness at the application site.

  • Tablet: Nausea, headache, stomach pain, or vomiting.

• Contraindications: Do not use if you have a known allergy to Ketoconazole.

• Liver Health (Tablets): For those taking tablets, monitor for signs of liver issues (yellow eyes/skin, dark urine).

• Pregnancy/Lactation: Shampoo and cream are generally safe.Tablet users should NOT breastfeed.
