Lamitrin ER 100

Presentation: Each extended-release tablet contains 100 mg Lamotrigine.

Indications: Used alone or with other medicines to prevent and control seizures (fits) in epilepsy. Also used to delay the occurrence of mood episodes (depression, mania, hypomania, mixed episodes) in bipolar disorder in adults.

Dosage & Administration: Usually taken once daily, with or without food. Swallow whole; do not chew, crush, or break. Dosage is started low and gradually increased by your doctor over several weeks or months to find the best dose. Follow your doctor's instructions precisely.

Side Effects: Common: Dizziness, headache, blurred vision, unsteadiness, nausea, drowsiness, difficulty sleeping, and rash. Serious skin rashes requiring immediate medical attention can occur, especially in children and if the starting dose is too high or increased too quickly, or if taken with valproic acid.

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, heart problems, a history of rash with other antiepileptic drugs, or any mental health conditions like depression or suicidal thoughts. May affect the effectiveness of hormonal birth control. Avoid alcohol. May cause dizziness and drowsiness.

Storage: Store below 30°C (86°F), protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
