Lantidex 60 

Presentation: Each delayed-release capsule contains Dexlansoprazole INN 60 mg. Lantidex is a brand name marketed by Opsonin Pharma Ltd.in Bangladesh. The capsule contains a mixture of two types of enteric-coated granules with different pH-dependent dissolution profiles, providing a dual delayed release.It is available in blister packs.

Indications:Lantidex (Dexlansoprazole) is indicated in adults and adolescents (12 years of age and older) for:  

• Healing of all grades of erosive esophagitis (EE) for up to 8 weeks.  
• Maintaining healing of EE and relief of heartburn for up to 6 months in adultsand up to 16 weeks in patients 12 to 17 years of age.  
• Treatment of heartburn associated with symptomatic non-erosive Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) for4 weeks.  

Dosage and Administration:  The recommended dose for healing erosive esophagitis in adults and children over 12 years is 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks.For maintenance of healed EE and symptomatic non-erosive GERD, the dose is 30 mg once daily.For moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class B), the recommended dosage is 30 mg once daily for up to eight weeks for healing of EE.

Lantidex capsules can be taken without regard to food. It should be swallowed whole. Alternatively, the capsule can be opened, and the intact granules sprinkled on one tablespoon of applesauce and swallowed immediately. Granules should not be chewed.

Side Effects: Common side effects of Lantidex (Dexlansoprazole) may include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and flatulence.

Precautions: Lantidex (Dexlansoprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Gastric malignancy should be excluded before initiating therapy. Caution should be exercised with concomitant use of methotrexate. Long-term use may lead to an increased risk of bone fracture and hypomagnesemia.  

Use in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies with Lantidex in pregnant women. It should not be administered to pregnant women unless the expected benefits outweigh the potential risks. It is not known whetherDexlansoprazole is excreted in human milk; therefore, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importanceof the drug to the mother.  

Storage:  Store below 30°C temperature and in a dry place, protected from light.Keep out of reach of children.
