Laxocon is indicated for:
Constipation of any cause.
Relief from prolonged and recurrent constipation.
Bowel clearance before medical procedures, such as surgery, childbirth, or radiological investigations.
Sodium Picosulfate is a triarylmethane derivative stimulant laxative. It is activated by bacteria in the colon, where it acts locally. The active form stimulates nerve endings in the intestinal wall, leading to colonic peristalsis and the accumulation of water and electrolytes in the colon. This process stimulates defecation, shortens transit time, and softens the stool.
The medication should be taken at night to produce an evacuation the following morning. Start with the lowest dose and adjust up to the maximum recommended dose as needed. The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.
