Levopa 110

Presentation: Tablets containing Levodopa 100 mg and Carbidopa 10 mg.

Indications: Treatment of Parkinson's disease, including relief of symptoms such as tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia. May be useful in patients experiencing motor fluctuations.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage is individualized. The usual starting dose is half to one tablet two to three times daily, which may be gradually increased by the physician based on response. May be taken with or without food, but avoid high-protein meals.

Side Effects: Common: nausea, involuntary movements (dyskinesia), dizziness, headache, abnormal dreams. Less common: confusion, hallucinations, orthostatic hypotension, vomiting, loss of appetite.

Precautions: Use caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, severe pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, renal, hepatic, or endocrine disorders, or a history of peptic ulcer or convulsions. Not recommended in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma or malignant melanoma. May cause drowsiness; caution advised while driving or operating machinery.
