Limpet 1

Presentation: Each tablet of Limpet 1 contains 1 mg of glimepiride. 

Indications: Limpet (glimepiride) is an oral sulfonylurea antidiabetic agent indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It can be used as monotherapy or in combinationwith other oral antidiabetic agents or insulin.

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose of glimepiride is 1 mg once daily, administered with breakfast or the first main meal. Dosage adjustments may be made based on glycemic response, usually in increments of 1 mg at 1-2 week intervals. The maximum recommended daily dose is 8 mg. The dosage should be individualized to achieve the lowest dose consistent with adequate glycemic control.

Side Effects: The most common side effect of glimepiride is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Other common side effects may include dizziness, headache, nausea, and weight gain. Less common but potentially serious side effects can include allergic reactions, liver problems, and blood disorders.

Precautions: Limpet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to glimepiride or other sulfonylureas, type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, and severe renal or hepatic impairment. It should be used with caution in elderly, debilitated, or malnourished patients, and in those with adrenal or pituitary insufficiency, as they may be more susceptible to hypoglycemia.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
