Linadi Plus 500

Presentation:Tablets containing 2.5 mg linagliptin and 500 mg metformin hydrochloride.  

Indications:As an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both linagliptin and metformin is appropriate.  

Dosageand Administration:Theusual dose for the 2.5 mg/500 mg strength is one tablet taken orally twice daily with meals.Dosage is individualized based on the patient's current regimen and tolerability, with a maximum daily dose of 5 mg linagliptin and 2000 mg metformin. Contraindicated in patients with eGFR below 45 mL/min/1.73 m². Follow physician's instructions.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and headache associated with metformin. Linagliptin is generally well-tolerated; however, potential side effects include nasopharyngitis and hypoglycemia (when used with sulfonylureas or insulin). Lactic acidosis is a rare but serious side effect associated with metformin.  

Precautions: Contraindicated in moderate to severe renal impairment, end-stage renal disease, dialysis, metabolic acidosis (including diabetic ketoacidosis), and hypersensitivity to linagliptin or metformin. Use with caution in patients with risk factors for lactic acidosis (e.g., excessive alcohol use, hepatic impairment, hypoxic states) and heart failure. Assess renal function before initiation and periodically thereafter.

Storage: Store below 30°C, in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
