Linadi Plus 850 

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Linagliptin INN 2.5 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride BP 850 mg. Available in strips.

Indications: Indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both linagliptin and metformin is appropriate.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage should be individualized based on the patient's current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability, not exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose of linagliptin 5 mg and metformin hydrochloride 2000 mg. The usual starting dose in patients not currently treated with metformin is one tablet twice daily with meals. In patients already on metformin 850 mg twice daily, the starting dose is one tablet of Linadi Plus 850 twice daily. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Gradual dose escalation is recommended to reduce gastrointestinal side effects associated with metformin.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and headache. Hypoglycemia may occur when used in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas. Other possible side effects include nasopharyngitis.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), acute metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and known hypersensitivity to linagliptin or metformin. Use with caution in patients with moderate renal impairment, history of pancreatitis, and heart failure. Avoid excessive alcohol intake.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
