Linadus-M 1000 

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Linagliptin INN 2.5 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride BP 1000 mg. Available in strips.

Indications: Linadus-M is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both linagliptin and metformin is appropriate.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage should be individualized based on the patient's current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability. The usual starting dose in patients not currently treated with metformin is 2.5 mg linagliptin/500 mg metformin hydrochloride twice daily. In patients already treated with metformin, the starting dose is 2.5 mg linagliptin and the current dose of metformin taken twice daily. Linadus-M 1000 (2.5 mg linagliptin/1000 mg metformin hydrochloride) can be given twice daily, with a maximum daily dose of 5 mg linagliptin and 2000 mg metformin hydrochloride. It should generally be given with meals, with gradual dose escalation to reduce gastrointestinal side effects due to metformin.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and headache. Hypoglycemia may occur when used in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas. Other possible side effects include nasopharyngitis.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), acute metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and known hypersensitivity to linagliptin or metformin. Use with caution in patients with moderate renal impairment, history of pancreatitis, and heart failure. Avoid excessive alcohol intake.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
