Indications:Linadus-M is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus whentreatment with both linagliptin and metformin is appropriate.  

Dosage and Administration:The dosageof Linadus-M should be individualized based on the patient's current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability, while not exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose oflinagliptin 5 mg and metformin 2000 mg. It is usually taken twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects associated with metformin.  

• For patients not currently treated with metformin: Initiate treatment with one tablet of Linadus-M 2.5/500 mg twice daily.
• For patients already treated with metformin: Start with linagliptin 2.5 mg twice daily and continue the current dose of metformin.
• Patients already treated with linagliptin and metformin as separate tablets may be switched to Linadus-M containing the same doses of each component.

Tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed, split, or chewed.Renal function should be assessed before initiating Linadus-M and periodically thereafter.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Diarrhea 
• Nausea 
• Vomiting 
• Upset stomach
• Headache 
• Nasal congestion (stuffy nose) 
• Sore throat 
• Upper respiratory tract infection 
• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level), especially when used in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas.  

Precautions:Linadus-M is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²), acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis, and known hypersensitivity to linagliptin or metformin.It should be used with caution in patients with moderate renal impairment, liver disease, and a history of pancreatitis. Excessive alcohol intake should be avoided due to the increased risk of lactic acidosis associated with metformin.
