Linatab 5 

Presentation: Linatab 5 Tablet contains Linagliptin 5 mg.

Indications: Linatab is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitusto improve glycemic control as:  

• Monotherapy: in patients inadequately controlled by diet and exercise alone and forwhom metformin is inappropriate due to intolerance or contraindications.  
• Combination therapy: in combination with other glucose-lowering medicinal products includingmetformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin when these, along with diet and exercise, do not provide adequate glycemic control.

Dosage and Administration: The recommended dose of Linatab is 5 mg once daily, taken orally at any time of the day, with or without food.

• No dose adjustment is required based on renal function.
• No dose adjustment is required based on hepatic impairment.
• Linatab can be taken with other oral antidiabetic agents or insulin. When used in combination with a sulfonylurea or insulin, a lower dose of the sulfonylurea or insulin may be considered to reduce the risk³of hypoglycemia.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nasopharyngitis (common cold), hypoglycemia (when used in combination with sulfonylureas or insulin), cough, and constipation. Less common side effects can include increased amylase levels and pancreatitis.

Precautions: Linatab is contraindicated in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reaction to linagliptin or any of the excipients. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of pancreatitis. If pancreatitis is suspected, Linatab should be discontinued.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
