Losita 5

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Escitalopram Oxalate USP equivalent to Escitalopram 5 mg. 

Indications:Treatment of major depressive episodes, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), generalized anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive¹disorder.

Dosage & Administration: The usual starting dose for adults is 10 mg once daily. However, for panic disorder, the initial dose may be 5 mg once daily for the first week before increasing to 10 mg. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response, with a maximum dose of 20 mg daily. Take once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. In elderly patients, a starting dose of 5 mg once daily is usually recommended.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, trouble sleeping, ejaculation problems (mainly delayed ejaculation), drowsiness, increased sweating, and fatigue. Less common side effects may include decreased appetite, anxiety, restlessness, abnormal dreams, tremor, and changes in taste.

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have any heart problems, kidney or liver issues, a history of seizures, bipolar disorder, or glaucoma. Use caution with alcohol and other medications that affect the brain. Escitalopram may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts, especially in young people. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not stop taking this medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
