Lunarzin 5 is a tablet containing 5 mg of Flunarizine. 
It is manufactured by Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications:

Lunarzin (Flunarizine) is used for the prophylaxis of migraine headaches, both classic (with aura) and common (without aura). It is also used for the symptomatic treatment of vestibular vertigo (dizziness due to inner ear problems) and peripheral vascular disease.

Dosage and Administration:

The starting dose for migraine prophylaxis in adults under 65 years is 10 mg at night. For adults over 65 years, the starting dose is 5 mg daily at night. If there is no improvement after 2 months, treatment should be stopped. If the patient responds well, the maintenance dose is 5 mg daily for 5 days a week, with 2 medicine-free days.

For vertigo and motion sickness in adults, the dose is 10-20 mg daily. For children over 40 kg, the dose is 5 mg daily.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Drowsiness
• Weight gain
• Increased appetite
• Fatigue
• Muscle pain
• Nausea
• Insomnia
• Runny nose
• Depression
• Stomach discomfort

Less common side effects include anxiety, dry mouth, and extrapyramidal symptoms (such as tremors, rigidity, and slow movement), particularly in the elderly.

Precautions:

Inform your doctor if you have a history of depression, Parkinson's disease, liver problems, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Lunarzin may cause drowsiness, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. Avoid alcohol consumption.
