Lyroxen 50 Tablet

Presentation: Lyroxen 50 is available as tablets, each containing Naproxen BP 50 mg. It is a product of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh and is usually available in blister packs. The tablets are typically white to off-white, round or oval-shaped.

Indications: Lyroxen (Naproxen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the relief of:

  • Mild to moderate pain such as muscle aches, headaches, toothaches.
  • Pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis.
  • Acute gout.
  • Primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).

Dosage and Administration: Lyroxen 50 tablets should be swallowed whole with water, preferably with or after food to minimize gastrointestinal irritation. The dosage depends on the condition being treated and the patient's response, as directed by a physician.

  • For pain relief: The usual initial dose is 200-400 mg, followed by 200 mg every 6-8 hours as needed, with a maximum daily dose usually not exceeding 1000 mg on the first day and 800 mg on subsequent days.
  • For osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis: The usual dose is 250-500 mg twice daily in the morning and evening.
  • For acute gout: The usual initial dose is 750 mg, followed by 250 mg every 8 hours until the attack subsides.
  • For dysmenorrhea: The usual initial dose is 500 mg, followed by 250 mg every 6-8 hours as needed.
