Marzev 12.5 

Presentation: Each tablet of Marzev 12.5 contains 12.5 mg of Omarigliptin. It is available in strips. The tablets have specific shapes and markings depending on the manufacturer (ACI Limited) in Bangladesh.

Indications: Marzev (omarigliptin) is indicated for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control. It is a long-acting dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor.

Dosage and Administration: The recommended dose of Omarigliptin is usually 25 mg once weekly, as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents. A lower dose of 12.5 mg once weekly may be considered for patients with severe renal impairment. The tablet should be taken orally once a week, with or without food. It is advisable to take the dose on the same day each week.

Side Effects: The adverse effects of omarigliptin are generally well tolerated. Common side effects may include nasopharyngitis and hypoglycemia (especially when used with other antidiabetic medications like sulfonylureas or insulin). Other possible side effects include constipation, diarrhea, and gastrointestinal issues.

Precautions: Marzev (omarigliptin) is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to omarigliptin or any of the excipients, and in patients with severe ketosis, diabetic coma, or precoma in type 1 diabetes. Caution should be exercised when used in patients with a history of pancreatitis. Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with severe renal impairment. Avoid alcohol consumption. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Storage: Store in a cool (below 30°C) and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
