Maxbon Kit

Presentation: A kit containing 1 tablet of Ibandronic Acid 150 mg and 60 tablets of Calcium Orotate 400 mg.

Ingredients:

• Ibandronic Acid (as Ibandronate Sodium Monohydrate INN) 150 mg
• Calcium Orotate INN 400 mg

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and in men. It increases bone mineral density (BMD) and reduces the incidence of vertebral fractures.  

Dosage & Administration:  

• One tablet of Ibandronic Acid 150 mgis taken once monthly, on the same date each month.
• Two tablets of Calcium Orotate 400 mg are usually recommended per day in divided doses.
• Ibandronic Acid tablet should be taken at least 60 minutes before the first food or drink (other than water) or any other oral medication, including calcium supplements, antacids, or vitamins.
• Swallow the Ibandronic Acid tablet whole with a full glass of plain water (250 ml) while standing or sitting upright. Do not lie down for 60 minutes after taking Ibandronic Acid.
• Start taking Calcium Orotate tablets from the day after the Ibandronic Acid day.

Side Effects:

• Ibandronic Acid: Common side effects may include hypertension, dyspepsia, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, arthralgia, back pain, localized osteoarthritis, myalgia, muscle cramp, influenza, nasopharyngitis, bronchitis, urinary tract infection, upper respiratory tract infection, headache, dizziness, skin rash,and insomnia.
• Calcium Orotate: Common side effects may include bloating and abdominal swelling. Infrequent side effects may include loss of appetite, upset stomach, constipation, nausea, vomiting, unusual weight loss, mood changes, bone/muscle pain, headache, increased thirst/urination,weakness, unusual tiredness,and formation of kidney stones.

Precautions:

• Ibandronic Acid: Contraindicated in abnormalities of the esophagus which delay esophageal emptying, inability to stand or sit upright for at least 60 minutes,hypocalcemia, and known hypersensitivity to ibandronic acid or any of its components. Use with caution in patients with upper gastrointestinal disorders. Adequate calcium and vitamin D intake is important. Severe bone, joint, and/or muscle pain have been reported. Not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment.
• Calcium Orotate: Precaution is needed in patients allergic to calcium orotate, with kidney stones, kidney disease, low stomach acid, pancreatic disease, sarcoidosis, or malabsorption syndrome. Calcium supplements taken without food may increase the risk of kidney stones.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
