Medroxy 10

Presentation:Each tablet contains medroxyprogesterone acetate 10 mg. 

Indications:Medroxy 10 is indicated for the treatment of secondary amenorrhea and abnormal uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance, in the absence of organic pathology suchas fibroids or uterine cancer.It is also indicated to reduce the incidence of endometrial hyperplasia in nonhysterectomized postmenopausal women receiving daily oral conjugated estrogens.  

Dosage and Administration: The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the specific indication and the patient's response.

• Secondary Amenorrhea:5 or 10 mg daily for 5 to 10 days. 
• Abnormal Uterine Bleeding:5 or 10 mg daily for 5 to 10 days, starting on the 16th or 21st day of the menstrual cycle. 
• Prevention of Endometrial Hyperplasia in Postmenopausal Women receiving Estrogens:5 or 10 mg daily for 12 to 14 consecutive days per month.  

The tablets should be swallowed whole with a drink of water, with or without food.The timing of the dose may be important depending on the indication, so follow your doctor's instructions.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, nausea, breast tenderness, abdominal pain, changes in menstrual bleeding patterns (spotting, breakthrough bleeding), weight changes, and mood changes.

Less common but potentially serious side effects can include thromboembolic disorders (blood clots), stroke, heart attack, liver problems, and allergic reactions.

Precautions:Medroxy 10 is contraindicated in pregnancy, in patients with a history of thromboembolic disorders, severe liver dysfunction, known or suspected hormone-dependent malignancies (e.g., breast or uterine cancer), and undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding.  

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of depression, diabetes, epilepsy, migraine, asthma, or cardiac or renal dysfunction. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, as Medroxy 10 may interact with certain drugs.  

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
