Melatrin Cream is a prescription medication used for the short-term treatment of moderate-to-severe facial melasma (dark skin discoloration).

Active Ingredients & How They Work

• Fluocinolone Acetonide: A topical corticosteroid that reduces skin inflammation and redness.

• Hydroquinone: A depigmenting agent that reduces melanin production to lighten dark spots.

• Tretinoin: A retinoid (keratolytic) that promotes skin cell turnover.

How to Apply

1. Timing: Apply once daily at night, at least 30 minutes before bedtime.

2. Preparation: Gently wash the face with a mild cleanser and pat dry.

3. Application: Apply a thin film to the affected areas plus ½ inch of surrounding normal skin. Rub in lightly and evenly.

4. Sun Protection: Strict sun avoidance is required. Always wear SPF 30+ sunscreen and protective clothing during the day.

Key Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid Irritants: Do not use abrasive soaps, alcohol-rich products, astringents, or other skin exfoliants/photosensitizing medications.
