Mepogest 10 

Presentation: Each tablet contains Medroxyprogesterone Acetate BP 10 mg. Available in strips.

Indications: Treatment of secondary amenorrhea and abnormal uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance. May also be used to reduce the incidence of endometrial hyperplasia in postmenopausal women receiving estrogen therapy.

Dosage and Administration: For secondary amenorrhea, the usual dose is 5 or 10 mg daily for 5 to 10 days. For abnormal uterine bleeding, 5 or 10 mg daily for 5 to 10 days, starting on the 16th or 21st day of the menstrual cycle. For endometrial hyperplasia, 5 or 10 mg daily for 12 to 14 consecutive days per month in postmenopausal women receiving estrogen. Dosage should be individualized and as directed by a physician.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, abdominal pain, weakness, dizziness, and irregular menstrual cycles. Other possible side effects include nervousness and weight gain.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with a history of thromboembolic disorders, cerebral apoplexy, severe liver dysfunction, known or suspected malignancy of the breast or genital organs, and undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. Use with caution in patients with epilepsy, migraine, asthma, and cardiac or renal dysfunction.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
