Indications: Merolin is indicated for the treatment of:  

• Neuropathic pain 
• Diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain (DPNP) 
• Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) 
• Peripheral neuropathic pain (PNP)  

Dosage and Administration:

The usual initial dose for adults is 5 mg of Mirogabalin taken orally twice daily. The dose may be gradually increased by 5 mg at intervals of one week or longer, as needed and tolerated, up to a range of 10 mg to 15 mg twice daily.10 The dosage may be adjusted by the doctor based on the patient's age and symptoms.11 Merolin can be taken with or without food.12 Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Merolin, as it may potentiate the impairment of motor skills and the sedating effects of alcohol.13

Side Effects: The most commonly reported adverse reactions include:

• Somnolence (sleepiness) 
• Dizziness 
• Edema (swelling) 
• Weight gain  

Rarely, the following symptoms may occur. If you experience any of these, stop taking the medicine and see your doctor immediately:

• Lightheadedness, a state close to sleep with impaired consciousness, loss of consciousness (dizziness, somnolence, unconsciousness) 
• General malaise, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, jaundice (liver dysfunction)  

Precautions:

• Mirogabalin is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Mirogabalin and in patients with mild to moderate hepatic and renal impairment. 
• This medicine may cause dizziness, somnolence, or loss of consciousness.Avoid operating dangerous machinery, such as driving a car,until you know how it affects you.Elderly patients should be particularly cautious due to the increased risk of falls and fractures. 
• Merolin may cause weight gain and blurred or double vision.If any allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor.
• Dose adjustment is needed in patients with renal dysfunction.
• Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications before starting Merolin.
