Methipred 4 Tablet contains Methylprednisolone 4mg.Methylprednisolone is a synthetic corticosteroid, a type of medicine used to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system.  

Indications:

Methipred 4 Tablet is used to treat a wide variety of conditions, including:

  • Allergic conditions:Such as severe allergic reactions, seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis, contact dermatitis, drug hypersensitivity reactions.  
  • Rheumatic disorders:Such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis.  
  • Skin disorders:Such as severe psoriasis, bullous dermatitis herpetiformis, severe erythema multiforme.  
  • Eye disorders:Such as allergic corneal ulcers, keratitis, optic neuritis, allergic conjunctivitis.  
  • Respiratory diseases:Such as symptomatic sarcoidosis, bronchial asthma, aspiration pneumonitis.  
  • Hematological disorders:Such as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, acquired hemolytic anemia.  
  • Neoplastic diseases:For palliative management of leukemias and lymphomas.  
  • Edematous states:To induce diuresis or remission of proteinuria in nephrotic syndrome.  
  • Gastrointestinal diseases:To help during critical periods of ulcerative colitis and regional enteritis.  
  • Nervous system:Acute exacerbations of multiple sclerosis.  
  • Endocrine disorders: Primary or secondary adrenocortical insufficiency,congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hypercalcemia associated with cancer, nonsuppurative thyroiditis.  
  • Collagen diseases:Systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic dermatomyositis, acute rheumatic carditis.  

Dosage and Administration:

The dosage of Methipred 4 Tablet varies greatly depending on the condition being treated, its severity, and the patient's response. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose for you.

  • The usual initial dosage for adults can range from 2 mg to 60 mg per day, typically taken orally in one to four divided doses.
  • It is generally recommended to take Methipred 4 Tablet with foodto help prevent stomach upset.  
  • Follow your doctor's instructions carefully regarding the dose and duration of treatment.
  • Do not stop taking Methipred 4 Tablet suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this may lead to withdrawal symptoms. If the medication needs to be stopped after long-term therapy, it should be done gradually.
