Methsolon 4 

Presentation: Each tablet contains Methylprednisolone BP 4 mg. Available in strips.

Indications: Methsolon is a corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and allergic conditions, including:

• Allergic disorders
• Asthma
• Rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic disorders
• Skin diseases
• Endocrine disorders
• Respiratory diseases
• Hematologic disorders
• Gastrointestinal diseases
• Nervous system disorders
• Ophthalmic diseases
• Renal diseases
• Certain neoplastic diseases
• Multiple sclerosis exacerbations

The specific indication and dosage will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response.

Dosage and Administration: Dosage varies widely depending on the condition being treated, its severity, and the patient's response. The physician will prescribe the appropriate number of tablets. The total daily dose is usually administered orally in single or divided doses. It is often recommended to take Methsolon with food to minimize stomach upset. Do not stop taking this medication abruptly, especially after long-term use, as this can lead to withdrawal symptoms; dosage should be gradually reduced under medical supervision.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include increased appetite and weight gain, fluid retention (swelling), mood changes, difficulty sleeping, and increased sweating. Long-term use may lead to more serious side effects such as osteoporosis, increased risk of infections, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, cataracts, and muscle weakness.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with systemic fungal infections and known hypersensitivity to methylprednisolone or other corticosteroids. Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, peptic ulcer, osteoporosis, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, and psychiatric disorders. Inform your doctor if you have any infections or have recently been exposed to chickenpox or measles. Avoid live vaccinations while on this medication. Long-term use in children may affect growth. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding should be under strict medical supervision.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
