Migranil 1.5

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains 1.5 mg Pizotifen.

Indications: Prevents migraine headaches (classical, common, and cluster headaches). It does not treat a migraine once it has already started. May also increase appetite.

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults: Usually 1.5 mg daily, either as a single dose at night or divided into three doses throughout the day. Your doctor may adjust the dose up to a maximum of 4.5 mg daily. A single dose should not be more than 3 mg.
• Children (over 2 years): Up to 1.5 mg daily, usually divided into doses. A single dose at night should not be more than 1 mg.
• Take it at the same time each day. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Side Effects:

• Very Common: Sleepiness. Increased appetite. Weight gain.
• Common: Dry mouth. Dizziness. Nausea.
• Less Common: Constipation.
• Rare: In children, may cause overactivity.

Precautions: Use cautiously if you have:

• Trouble urinating (urinary retention).
• Kidney problems.
• Epilepsy.
• Angle-closure glaucoma (an eye condition).
• Enlarged prostate.
• May cause drowsiness, which can affect driving or using machines.
• May increase the effects of alcohol.
• Avoid stopping this medication suddenly.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Storage: Keep in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
