Mitadip 15

Presentation:
Each extended-release capsule contains 15 mg Mirtazapine.

Indications:

• Treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD)

• Management of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

• May be used for insomnia related to depression

Dosage and Administration:

• Initial dose: 15 mg once daily at bedtime

• Maintenance dose: 15-45 mg daily (adjust after 2-4 weeks)

• Elderly: Start with lower doses (7.5 mg)

• Swallow whole with water - do not crush or chew

• May be taken with or without food

Side Effects:

• Drowsiness/sedation (common)

• Increased appetite/weight gain

• Dry mouth

• Dizziness

• Elevated cholesterol/triglycerides

• Constipation

Precautions:

• May impair alertness (caution when driving)

• Risk of suicidal thoughts in young adults

• Monitor for signs of agranulocytosis (rare)

• Caution in patients with:

  • Liver/kidney impairment

  • Seizure disorders

  • Cardiovascular disease

• Avoid alcohol during treatment

Storage:

• Store below 30°C

• Protect from moisture

• Keep in original packaging

Note:
Therapeutic effects may take 2-4 weeks. Do not discontinue abruptly.
