Presentation: Capsules containing micronized progesterone 100 mg. Various strengths and formulations (e.g., 200 mg capsules, tablets, vaginal gel) may be available; refer to the packaging for the specific product.

Indications: Mygest 100, containing progesterone, a natural female sex hormone, is indicated for various conditions related to progesterone deficiency. These include:

• Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): Used along with estrogen in postmenopausal women with a uterus to prevent endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of the lining of the uterus).
• Female Infertility: Helps prepare the uterus for pregnancy and supports the maintenance of pregnancy. It is used to cause menstrual periods in women who are not having them due to a lack of natural progesterone.
• Threatened/Recurrent Abortion: May be used to support pregnancy in women at higher risk of miscarriage.
• Luteal Support: Used during assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures like IUI and IVF-ET, and in cases of proven luteal phase insufficiency.
• Secondary Amenorrhea: To induce menstrual bleeding in women who have stopped having periods.
• Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS).
• Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB).
• Endometriosis.
• Benign Mastopathy.
• Oocyte Donation Program.
• Progesterone Challenge Test: In secondary amenorrhea.
• Cycle Control: Along with estrogen therapy.

Dosage and Administration: Dosage and route of administration (oral or vaginal) depend on the indication and individual patient needs.

• The usual recommended oral dose is 100 mg to 200 mg two to three times daily in divided doses, with food for better absorption.
• In HRT (continuous regimen), the dose is often 100 mg daily throughout the month along with estrogen. In a sequential regimen, it may be 200 mg daily for the last 12 days of each therapeutic cycle.
• For luteal support in ART, the dose is often 200 mg three times a day from the day of embryo transfer until pregnancy is confirmed, and if pregnant, continued until the 12th week.
• For threatened or recurrent abortion, the dose is typically 200 to 400 mg per day in divided doses.
• For secondary amenorrhea, 300 mg for 10 days may be used.
• For PMS, 100-200 mg daily for 10 days (usually from day 17 to 26 of the cycle) may be used.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, breast pain or tenderness, irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting, stomach or abdominal cramps, bloating, nausea and vomiting, hair loss,edema, fatigue, and vaginal yeast infection. Drowsiness or sleepiness can also occur, so caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to progesterone or its components (may contain peanut oil), undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, known or suspected breast cancer or other hormone-sensitive cancers, a history of blood clots or stroke, severe liver disease, and porphyria. Use with caution in patients with conditions like severe renal insufficiency, diabetes mellitus, migraine, seizures, headache, heart diseases, or depression. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using this medicine.

Storage: Store below 30°C, in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
