Naafcal D

Presentation: Tablets containing Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to elemental Calcium [Specify strength, e.g., 500 mg or 600 mg] and Vitamin D3 BP [Specify strength, e.g., 200 IU or 400 IU]. Available in strips or blister packs of [Specify number] tablets, manufactured by Naafco Pharma Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Naafcal-D is indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency in conditions such as:

• Osteoporosis
• Osteomalacia
• Rickets
• Tetany
• Parathyroid disease
• As a supplement to ensure adequate dietary intake in conditions such as pregnancy and lactation, osteogenesis and tooth formation (as an adjunct with definitivetreatment), and therapy with anti-seizure medications. 
• It is also used as a routine supplement and phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.  

Dosage and Administration:

• Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 200 IU Tablet: 2 tablets daily or 1 tablet twice daily.
• Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU Tablet:1 tablet twice daily. It is best taken with or just after a meal to improve absorption.Follow the physician's instructions for dosage during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Possible side effects may include:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Stomach cramps
• Dry mouth
• Increased thirst
• Increased urination
• Constipation

Notify your physician if you experience any of these side effects.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with:

• Hypercalcaemia
• Hyperthyroidism
• Renal calculi and nephrolithiasis
• Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

Precautions should be taken in patients with pre-existing heart disease or kidney disease.

Storage: Keep in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
