Neocilor Syrup - (2.5mg/5ml) contains Desloratadine 2.5mg per 5ml. Desloratadine is a non-sedating antihistamine.Neocilor Syrup is manufactured by Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. 

Indications:

Neocilor Syrup is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with: 

• Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (such as sneezing, nasal discharge & itching, congestion or stuffiness, as well as ocular itching, tearing and redness, itching of the palate, and coughing).
• Chronic idiopathic urticaria (itching and the size & number of hives).

Dosage and Administration:

The usual doses are as follows:

• Children 6-11 months of age: 2 ml once daily.
• Children 1-5 years of age: 2.5 ml once daily.
• Children 6-11 years of age: 5 ml once daily.
• Adults & children over 12 years of age: 10 ml once daily.

It can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects:

Less common side effects may include:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Fatigue
• Dizziness
• Pharyngitis (sore throat)
• Dyspepsia (indigestion)
• Myalgia (muscle pain)

Precautions:

• In adult patients with liver or kidney impairment, a starting dose of one 5 mg tablet every other day is recommended.
• Use with caution in patients with a medical or familial history of seizures.
• The safe use of Desloratadine during pregnancy has not been established and should only be used if clearly indicated (Pregnancy Category C).
• Desloratadine passes into breast milk, so a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or the medication, considering its importance to the mother. 

Contraindications:

Desloratadine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to desloratadine, any of its ingredients, or loratadine.

Storage Conditions:

Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep below 30°C and out of reach of children.
