Ciprofloxacin & Dexamethasone Sterile Eye/Ear Drops

Dual-Action Antibiotic & Steroid Therapy

This combination formula pairs Ciprofloxacin (a potent broad-spectrum antibiotic) with Dexamethasone (a targeted corticosteroid) to treat infections of the eye and ear while rapidly suppressing associated inflammation and pain.

Indications

• Eye: Steroid-responsive inflammatory conditions where a bacterial infection is present or likely. Ideal for post-operative recovery.

• Ear: Treatment of infections like otitis externa (swimmer's ear) and otitis media, including post-surgical ear care.

Key Ingredients

• Ciprofloxacin: A fluoroquinolone that kills bacteria by interfering with their DNA synthesis.

• Dexamethasone: A glucocorticoid that reduces swelling and allergic responses by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.

Dosage & Administration

• For the Eye: Usually 1 drop every 4–6 hours. For severe cases, dosage may increase to 1 drop every 2 hours for the first 48 hours.

• For the Ear: * Adults/Children: 4 drops into the affected ear, twice daily for 7 days.

  • Note: Effectiveness in infants under 1 year has not been established.

• Important:Shake well before use. Close the bottle tightly after each application.

Safety & Precautions

• Contraindications: Do not use if you have glaucoma, viral infections (like Herpes Simplex), or fungal diseases of the eye/ear.

• Side Effects: May cause temporary stinging, redness, or blurred vision in the eye; discomfort or dizziness in the ear. Prolonged use requires routine monitoring of intraocular pressure.

• Pregnancy/Nursing: Consult a physician; use only if the benefits outweigh potential risks.

Storage
