Nepco 75 Capsule

Generic Name: Pregabalin

Strength: Each capsule contains Pregabalin INN 75 mg.

Indications:

• Neuropathic pain associated with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) 
• Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN) 
• Adjunctive therapy for adult patients with Partial Onset Seizures 
• Fibromyalgia 
• Neuropathicpain associated with Spinal Cord Injury  

Dosage & Administration:

• Dosage should be individualized by a physician.
• The usual dose range is 150 to 600 mg per day, given in two or three divided doses.
• Neuropathic pain associated with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy:   Start with 150 mg/day, may increase to a maximum of 300 mg/day within 1 week.
• Postherpetic Neuralgia: Start with 150 mg/day, may increase to 300 mg/day within 1 week. Some patients may need up to 600 mg/day.
• Adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures:   Start with 150 mg/day (75 mg twice daily), may increase based on response and tolerability, up to a maximum of 600 mg/day.
• Fibromyalgia:The recommended dose is 300 to 450 mg/day.Start at 150 mg/day, may be increased to 300 mg/day within 1 week. May be further increased to 450 mg/day in patients not getting enough benefit.
• Neuropathic pain associated with Spinal Cord Injury: Start with 150 mg/day (75 mg twice daily), may be increased to 300 mg/day within 1 week.
• Nepco capsules can be taken with or without food.  

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any of its components.  

Side Effects:  

• Common:Dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, edema, blurred vision, weight gain.  

Precautions:

• May cause angioedema.Discontinue if it occurs.
• May cause dizziness and somnolence, affecting ability to drive or operate machinery.
• Use with caution in patients with pre-existing heart failure or renal impairment.
• Withdrawal should be gradual to avoid increased seizure frequency. 
• Monitor for mood changes or suicidal thoughts.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Pregnancy Category C. Use only if benefit outweighs risk.
• Breastfeeding is not recommended.

Storage:

• Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. 
• Keep out of reach of children.
