Indications:
Neugalin 75 Capsule is indicated for:
Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Postherpetic neuralgia
Adjunctive therapy for adult patients with partial-onset seizures
Fibromyalgia
Neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury
Generalized anxiety disorder
Dosage and Administration:
The dosage varies depending on the specific condition and individual patient response.
Neugalin 75mg Capsule can be taken with or without food.
It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
General Dosage Guidelines:
Neuropathic pain: The recommended dose is 150 to 600 mg daily, usually given in two or three divided doses.
Epilepsy: The recommended dose is also 150 to 600 mg daily, usually given in two or three divided doses.
Fibromyalgia: The recommended dose is 300 to 450 mg per day, administered in two divided doses.
Contraindications:
Patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any of the inactive ingredients in the formulation.
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with kidney disease; dose adjustment may be necessary.
Pregabalin may cause dizziness and somnolence. Patients should be advised not to drive or operate machinery until they know how the medication affects them.
Pregabalin may cause blurred vision or other visual disturbances. Patients should be advised to inform their doctor if any changes in vision occur.
Pregabalin may cause peripheral edema (swelling).
There may be an increased risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior in patients taking antiepileptic drugs, including pregabalin. Patients should be monitored for any changes in mood or behavior.
Pregnancy: Pregabalin should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus.
Breastfeeding: Pregabalin is excreted in human milk. A decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
