Presentation:Each prolonged-release tablet contains 600 mg of Thioctic Acid (Alpha-Lipoic Acid). These tablets are formulated for once-daily oral administration.
Indications:Nevralip 600 Retard is indicated for the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, particularly diabetic polyneuropathy, to alleviate symptoms such as pain, numbness, and tingling in the limbs.Thioctic acid acts as a potent antioxidant and is involved in metabolic processes that may benefit nerve function.
Dosage and Administration:The usual adult dose is one tablet (600 mg) once daily, taken preferably on an empty stomach about 30 minutes before the first meal of the day.The tablet should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid and should not be chewed or crushed to maintain the prolonged-release properties. The duration of treatment is determined by the physician.
Side Effects:Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Allergic reactions, including skin rash, itching, and hives, may occur rarely. Hypoglycemia has been reported in diabetic patients, especially those on insulin or oral antidiabetic agents.
Precautions: Nevralip 600 Retard should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, as thioctic acid can lower blood glucose levels. Blood glucose monitoring may be necessary, and adjustments to antidiabetic medication doses might be required. Alcohol consumption may impair the efficacy of thioctic acid. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents due to a lack of sufficient data. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting this medication.
Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
