Nexito 10

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Escitalopram Oxalate equivalent to Escitalopram 10 mg. Tablets are usually film-coated and supplied in blister packs or strips.

Indications: Nexito is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. It is also used for the treatment of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder in adults is 10 mg once daily. Depending on the patient's response, the dose may be increased by the physician to a maximum of 20 mg daily. For panic disorder and social anxiety disorder, the initial dose is 5 mg once daily for the first week, then increased to 10 mg once daily, with a maximum of 20 mg daily. For obsessive-compulsive disorder, the usual starting dose is 10 mg once daily, which may be increased to 20 mg daily. In elderly patients, the initial dose is 5 mg once daily, which may be increased to 10 mg daily. Nexito can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Follow the physician's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, headache, insomnia, somnolence, dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, increased sweating, and sexual disturbances (e.g., delayed ejaculation, decreased libido, anorgasmia). Less common side effects can include changes in appetite or weight, anxiety, agitation, tremor, gastrointestinal disturbances, and visual disturbances.

Precautions: Nexito should be used with caution in patients with a history of mania or hypomania, seizure disorders, bleeding disorders, or severe hepatic or renal impairment. It should not be used in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or pimozide. Caution is advised when used with other serotonergic drugs. Escitalopram may impair judgment, thinking, or motor skills; patients should exercise caution while driving or operating hazardous machinery. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Monitor for any signs of clinical worsening, suicidal thoughts, or unusual changes in behavior, especially during the initial months of therapy or when the dosage is adjusted.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
