Presentation: Tablets containing Escitalopram Oxalate equivalent to Escitalopram 5 mg.

Indications: Treatment of major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. May also be used for panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Dosage & Administration: For major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder, the usual starting dose for adults is 10 mg once daily. May be increased by the physician to a maximum of 20 mg daily. For panic disorder and social anxiety disorder, the initial dose is 5 mg once daily for the first week, then increased to 10 mg once daily. May be taken with or without food, usually at the same time each day.

Side Effects: Common: nausea, headache, insomnia, fatigue, dry mouth, increased sweating, sexual disturbances. Less common: dizziness, anxiety, agitation, tremor, gastrointestinal disturbances.

Precautions: Inform physician of any liver or kidney problems, heart conditions, history of seizures, or bleeding disorders. Use caution with alcohol and other CNS depressants. May increase the risk of suicidal thoughts, especially in young adults. Inform physician if pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not stop abruptly.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
