Noret 28 .
Presentation: Each pack of Noret 28 contains 28 tablets:
- 21 white tablets: Each white (hormone) tablet contains 0.03 mg of ethinylestradiol (an estrogen) and 0.15 mg of levonorgestrel (a progestogen).
- 7 brown tablets: Each brown (iron) tablet contains 75 mg of ferrous fumarate (an iron supplement). These do not contain hormones.
Indications: Noret 28 is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy. It works by:
- Inhibiting ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary).
- Thickening the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus.
- Thinning the lining of the uterus (endometrium), making it less likely for a fertilized egg to implant. The inclusion of the 7 iron tablets is to provide iron supplementation and to help maintain the pill-taking routine during the hormone-free interval.
Dosage and Administration:
- Take one tablet daily at the same time each day, with or without food.
- Start with the white (hormone) tablets for the first 21 days, following the order on the blister pack.
- After finishing the white tablets, take one brown (iron) tablet daily for the next 7 days.
- Start the next pack immediately after finishing the brown tablets, without any break.
- It is recommended to start taking Noret 28 on the first day of your menstrual period. If you start on a different day, use a non-hormonal backup method of contraception (such as condoms or spermicide) for the first 7 days.
