Olanap 10

Presentation: Each tablet contains 10 mg Olanzapine.

Indications: Treatment of schizophrenia and related psychoses (positive and negative symptoms), acute manic or mixed episodes of bipolar disorder (with or without psychotic features).

Dosage & Administration: For schizophrenia, the initial dose is 5-10 mg once daily, adjusted based on clinical status within 5-20 mg daily. For mania, initially 15 mg once daily, adjusted within 5-20 mg daily. Can be taken without regard to meals.

Side Effects: Very common: drowsiness and weight gain. Common: increased appetite, elevated glucose and triglyceride levels, dizziness, akathisia, orthostatic hypotension, constipation, dry mouth, asthenia, edema, photosensitivity.

Precautions: Use caution in patients with seizures, low white blood cell counts, liver problems, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, prostatic hypertrophy, or paralytic ileus. Avoid alcohol. May cause drowsiness.

Storage: Keep below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
